The Short Story Greg Ryder left his beloved Wisconsin as a very young man. A skier and entertainer, he eventually set down roots in Durango, Colorado, where he was inspired to revive the songs of the Old West and to begin to record his original songs, based on his own life and the history of the Old West. He writes what he know best. He was the son of a dairy farmer in Wisconsin. He is a survivor of the Bar Wars. He has loved and lost. He is not afraid to write about the injustice in the world, nor about heartache, nor about human mortality. You can see him perform at the Strater Hotel in the winters, and at the Sleeping Beauty Ranch, and other guest ranches in the summers.
